All consuming
After all that birthday fun we've had quite a quiet week. I have been really busy working on essays, and my love has been busy working. So not really any time to do much except watch 24 Season 3 on DVD and listen to my new CDs that I got on Saturday. I got Ben Folds Songs for Silverman from Tom for my birthday and I bought Rilo Kiley and Dr Dog (who will be playing Norwich Waterfront supporting Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on Feb 9th, for you Norwich kids). Ben Folds is as good as you all know he is, Rilo Kiley are my new favourite band as they have crafted a song called Does He Love You? which has seldom been off my walkman, and has been the subject of the repeat button many a time. Dr Dog describe themselves as:
" Dr. Dog is a musical band from the greater West Philadelphia area.We are interested in three-part harmonies, the out-of-doors, hoagies, vegetables and diminished chords "
This is good enough for me, and their music sounds like a lo-fi, American Beatles x Brtitish Sea Power, which is better than it sounds. Have very much been enjoying the magic of christmas vouchers. In other good things that have happened, I got 76 for a presentation. That's a proper First and everything, I know its only for one thing, but its the second above 70 mark I've had so far. and I've only been at uni for 3 & a half months, It bodes well for me and I no longer feel like a thick, old person at uni.
I got my goldfinches back, as they had gone away in protest at my not feeding them over christmas and some chaffinches have joined the merry band of garden fellows. I also saw three buzzards whilst walking to get the bus today, this is why I love living here.
A big electronic hug goes out to our lovely friend Marco who fell victim to some thieving shits, illustrating the state of this piss-poor-excuse-for-a-country that makes me ashamed at times, We should all move to Bath, there's probably an ancient by-law banning scoundrels from within the city walls there. Speaking of good people moving from crap cities to nice places, Jon who is one of our very best of friends, is moving from Liverpool to Devon in the summer, mainly for the clotted cream but I think he likes us too. I am very pleased about this.
